Spain’s two-party system in disarray

The catastrophic results of the PP and PSOE in the last 2014 European election, together losing more than 5 million voters and dropping to a combined 48% of the vote, shook up Spain’s traditional two-party system. Unlike the rest of Europe, they did not lose out to Eurosceptic or populist parties mainly on the right, but to new leftist parties asking for fairer, more social policies from the EU.
